7th-13th Apr. 2014 in Katowice "Spodek" the second edition of WTA BNP Paribas Katowice Open was held. 72 players took part in the games, the most important of them being: Agnieszka Radawańska, Roberta Vinci, Carla Suarez Navarro, Alize Cornet, Klara Koukalova, Yvonne Meusburger, Magdalena Rybarikova and Tsvetana Pironkova.The largest deal of emotions in the boxes was provided by the semifinal between Agnieszka Radwańska and Alize Cornet. Despite an immense support of fans, the Polish player did not manage to win the match and she handed the place in the finals to her rival who faced Camila Giorgi on 13th Apr. By this gorgeous victory Alize Cornet made her name as the best player of BNP Paribas Katowice Open 2014. As regards double games, Olga Savchuk and Yuliya Beygelzimer proved best.

The 2014 tournament has gone down in the history of WTA since for the first time within one night (10/11 Apr.) a thorough reconstruction of the tennis court was done so as during the last three days of the tournament matches were played for the audience in the whole "Spodek" hall.

The second edition of WTA tennis games in Katowice was broadcast in 57 world countries and could be watched by more than 170 million spectators. Along with the tournament a range of side events was held: autograph sessions in the fan zone as well as players' visits in "Stanica" orphanage and Upper-Silesian Children's Health Centre in Katowice. Additionally, the organisers prepared another edition of Kids Day when the youngest ones from "Tennis 10" programme could take part in a tennis tournament. Cups for the best were presented at the main court.
